Broadway's Lauren Elder (SIDE SHOW, HAIR) led the recent 'In the Spotlight' cabaret held at the Laurie Beechman Theater. The 6th annual show held each July was presented by the Spotlight Kidz under the direction of Sandy Kost-Sterner.

Marissa Follo Perry received the surprise of a lifetime onstage at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport CT, on Sunday, April 7 at the final curtain call for SISTER ACT.

Raise your voice! Connecticut's historic Downtown Cabaret Theatre has announced the final players of their sure-to-be fabulous Sister Act. Directed by original Broadway cast member Marissa Perry (who is also beloved for her starring turn in Hairspray), the production features an equally glittering cast of local performers. Stephen DeAngelis continues his ongoing salute to Broadway and Off-Broadway Standbys, Understudies and Alternates with its next edition of AT THIS PERFORMANCE… to be held on Monday, February 4th at The Green Room 42, Green Fig, Fourth Floor, Yotel NYC, 570 Tenth Avenue (at 42nd Street), New York, NY 10036 at 7 PM. On this very special evening, the series will reach the milestone of having celebrated the talents of over 1000 diffeent peformers in its history. Hosted by series Producing Artistic Director and Casting Director Stephen DeAngelis, the popular series allows performers to showcase their versatility and share anecdotes about their experiences.

Playwrights Kristen Adele Calhoun and Michael Thomas Walker's new drama, Canfield Drive, received its world premier this month, after being co-commissioned by 651 Arts in partnership with The St. Louis Black Repertory Company and the National Performance Network. Under development for the past four years, this breathtaking new play takes a hard, serious look at incidents and attitudes surrounding the August 14, 2014 fatal police shooting of Michael Brown, the Ferguson protests that followed, and the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Calhoun and Walker, whose work is well-researched and hard-hitting, uses a documentary theatre structure, its many short scenes based on interviews from people around Ferguson and around the nation whose voices might not necessarily have been heard in traditional media coverage.

This FREE workshop will help students fine-tune their audition skills and material - whether they're auditioning for a school show, community production or a college theatre program! Led by industry professionals with Broadway credits, this program is a must for any high schooler interested in musical theatre!

This edition celebrates the 15th Anniversary of the series.
