MusiCoLab “Spotlight Series: A Closer Look” will present songs and scenes from the new musical FINDING MADAME CURIE, one of three 30-minute excerpts of new musicals by Philly regional artists, part of Philly Theatre Week at the Louis Bluver Theater at the Drake.

New musicals by three Philadelphia-area creative teams will be in the spotlight on April 14 at 3 pm and April 15 at 7 pm, when MusiCoLab presents A Closer Look at the Louis Bluver Theater at the Drake.

MusiCoLab, a nonprofit organization founded to encourage and support new musicals and the artists who create them, has brought together several theater companies to establish “Curtain Up Philly! A Celebration of New Musicals” – a two-month celebration of the creation of new works for the musical stage.

Inis Nua Theatre Company will open its 19th season with the American premiere of 10 Dates With Mad Mary, written by Yasmine Akram. This comedy play tells the story of Mary McArdle, an antisocial young woman trying to find a date for her best friend’s wedding. The show runs from October 26, 2022 until November 6, for a total of eight performances.
