Cooper’s Bar, starring Emmy nominee Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul) and Lou Mustillo (Mike & Molly), returns. The six-part second season includes a two-episode recap of Season One followed by four brand new half-hour episodes featuring special guest stars Whitney Cummings (Good for You) and Patrick Fabian (Better Call Saul), among others.

Casting has been announced for week three of The Blank Theatre’s 31st Annual Young Playwrights Festival. The next three of 12 winning plays by young playwrights aged 15–19 will be presented, for the first time since 2019, live on stage July 20–23.

Now in its 31st year, The Living Room Series (LRS) is a new play development program that embodies The Blank's commitment to developing new work by diverse voices from both established and emerging writers.

The plays are Let Me In by Zander Pryor (age 18, from Dallas, TX); Living With It by Libby Eick (age 16, from McLean, VA); and A House With a Broken Swing by Isabel Tongson (age 16, from Winter Park, FL).

An artistic director, experienced actors, enthusiastic neophytes and even a violinist...these are the diverse players assembled for Why Dream in Inglewood?, a City of Inglewood Inglewood Growing Artists Performed Projects (IGAPP) initiative awarded to playwright Henry Ong. The IGAPP exposes Inglewood audiences to the practices of contemporary artists and supports the work and growth of artists. Ong's six-hour adaptation of the Chinese classic, 'Dream of the Red Chamber,' debuts Acts I & II on Saturday, April 22 at 10:30 am at the Edward Vincent Jr Park Amphitheater, 714 Warren Lane in Inglewood. Performances are free.

Kila Kitu, producer of the critically-acclaimed Black Women: State of the Union and the Los Angeles engagements of The Every 28 Hours Plays, will produce and co-direct Playwright Henry Ong's epic six-hour stage adaptation of 'Dream of the Red Chamber.'

Golden Globe award-winning actress and playwright Regina Taylor is this year's recipient of the Distinguished Achievement Award at the 14th Annual Texas State Black and Latino Playwrights Conference Sept. 12-18 at Texas State University. A tribute to the native Texan will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, in the Performing Arts Center Recital Hall.  

As part of the kick-off event for the 2016 Kennedy Center (KC) American College Theater Festival, a special preview of the EVERY 28 HOURS PLAYS will be performed and livestreamed as part of KC's Millennium Stage Series. The preview consists of an excerpt of the collection with more than 30 one-minute plays inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement, with participation by theater makers and institutions across the nation and showcases the creative outcome of a community outreach residency in Ferguson and St. Louis County, Missouri in the fall of 2015.

Black Women: State of the Union (BWSOTU) will be hosting talkbacks following evening performances of Black Women: State of the Union... Taking Flight on Feb. 16th, 22nd and 23rd at Company of Angels in downtown Los Angeles. Noted authors Tanya Alexander-Henderson, Kellie Dantzler, Sigrid Gilmer, Penelope Lowder and Lisa B. Thompson will join the producers and directors for a lively discussion of societal issues faced by Black women in modern-day America.

Black Women: State Of the Union returns to the Company of Angels' black box performance space in the historic Alexandria Hotel in downtown Los Angeles due to overwhelming audience response from last year's run at the Skylight Theater. BWSOTU-Taking Flight re-opens February 15th and runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm through February 24, 2013.
