Nottingham Playhouse today announces further details of its Unlocked Festival this autumn.  The festival, which sees the theatre raise its curtain for the first time since March, features a rich array of both live and live-streamed work with a programme that features world class performers, East Midlands talent, specially commissioned productions and work in progress.

New York's leading LGBTQ film festival, NewFest, has announced the full lineup of their 31st annual celebration of the year's best LGBTQ films from around the world. As announced earlier this week, the festival will kick off the festival's 31st edition with the New York premiere of Mike Doyle's Manhattan-set ensemble rom-com SELL BY, featuring an eclectic cast including Scott Evans (Netflix's “Grace and Frankie”), Kate Walsh (ABC's “Grey's Anatomy”), Academy Award-nominee and Emmy Award-winner Patricia Clarkson, Michelle Buteau (Netflix's “Tales of the City”) and Augustus Prew (HIGH-RISE), and will close the festival with the New York premiere of Rodrigo Bellott's award-winning film TU ME MANQUES, which was recently announced as Bolivia's submission for Best International Feature Film selection for the 2019 Academy Awards. 

With five Emmy nominations and 2019 BAFTA Awards for Best Mini-Series and Best Leading Actor, the star-studded British miniseries PATRICK MELROSE makes its DVD and Blu-ray debut on June 18, 2019 from Acorn.

Academy Award® nominee Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight) and Screen Actors Guild® winner Hugo Weaving (The Matrix trilogy) also star as Patrick Melrose's parents. The National Theatre will mark the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality in England and Wales by staging its first Queer Theatre event series from 6 - 10 July 2017. 

Playwright Alistair McDowall has been hailed as one to watch out for in British theatre. His production of Pomona last year at the National Theatre was championed by critics and theatre-goers and so there is much anticipation surrounding his latest play, X currently being staged at the Royal Court's Jerwood Theatre Downstairs. The production takes place on a research base on Pluto, where the crew have lost contact with earth and can do nothing but sit tight and wait for someone to rescue them.
