Jeff McLaughlin designs sets and lighting for theatre, film, television and corporate events. Upon completing the Acting Conservatory at La Jolla Playhouse, he began his career in technical theatre at La Jolla Playhouse and began teaching set and lighting design to high school students at The Bishop's School. After a year in San Diego, he moved to Los Angeles and immediately began designing for theatres throughout the city.

His work has been seen at the Fountain Theatre, the Colony Theatre, the Falcon Theatre, Theatre Tribe, Beverly Hills Playhouse, the Group Repertory Theatre, the Gascon, the Comedy Store, the Skylight Theatre, the MACHA Theatre and the Elephant StageWorks to name a few. Well, a few few...

He has worked on several films, television shows and theme park attractions for Disney, MTV, NBC, Discovery and HGTV as a production designer, art director, draftsman, lead carpenter and set dresser.

Corporate clients include Washington Mutual, Infiniti and Wella-Sebastian. Television credits include Ultimate Parkour Challenge, Interior Motives with Christopher Lowell and The Carol Duvall Show.

He's worked in almost every major city in the country, from New York to Hawaii, from Seattle to Miami and in several countries including Jamaica, Canada and Mexico, which helps feed his need for travel.

Recent notable works include Bakersfield Mist (Ovation nominee), A House Not Meant to Stand (Ovation nominee) and The Train Driver (Ovation and LA Weekly Award nominee) all at The Fountain, Grace and Glorie (Ovation Award winner) at The Colony, The Psychic at The Falcon, Influence at The Skylight, He Asked for It at MACHA Theatre, Recent Tragic Events (LADCC Award nominee) and The Long Christmas Ride Home (Ovation nominee), both at Theatre Tribe.

He won an LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award, an LA Drama Critics Circle Award and a StageSceneLA Award and was nominated for an LA Weekly Award for A Skull in Connemara at Theatre Tribe.

Jeff considers himself a designer by day and a writer/producer by night, having also produced two feature films, two television pilots, several stage productions, a long-running comedy troupe and nearly a dozen short films. He currently has more feature films in the works.

He received a BA in Creative Writing and a minor in Theatre Arts from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and hails from the Rock and Roll Capitol of the World.
