Brijean's Debut EP WALKIE TALKIE Streaming On Gorilla Vs. Bear

This Friday, just in time for summer, Brijean - the sunny disco-pop project of acclaimed percussionist Brijean Murphy (Toro y Moi, U.S. Girls, Poolside) and producer Doug Stuart - will release its debut, the Walkie Talkie EP. Today, the duo is sharing an advance stream of the full EP with Gorilla Vs. BRIJEAN (Toro y Moi, U.S. Girls) Announces Debut EP WALKIE TALKIE, Premieres SHOW AND TELL Video

Oakland percussionist Brijean Murphy has made a name for herself as the effortlessly cool conga player in live bands with Toro y Moi, U.S. Girls, and Poolside. Today she steps into the spotlight, announcing her debut EP as Brijean, a collaboration with producer/multi-instrumentalist Doug Stuart. The Walkie Talkie EP will be released on June 28 on Native Cat Recordings and features the disco-pop lead single 'Show and Tell.' The 'Show and Tell' video premiered today on Stereogum, who write, 'The track opens up with a pulsating bass line accented by dripping chimes. A funky melody on a keyed instrument gives way to a fun, disco feel as an intense conga section rises and maintains throughout.'

'IDOL' WATCH: Orlando Auditions

Day 4 of 'American Idol' kicked off in Orlando tonight with guest judge and Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth. Many remember Chenoweth's show-stealing, Tony-winning performance in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and her triumphant star turn when she originated the role of Glinda (or Galinda) in Wicked, which earned her a Tony Award nomination. Chenoweth most recently starred in the ABC series Pushing Daisies, for which she just won the Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. She'll next be seen back on Broadway in the revival of Promises, Promises. Although Chenoweth was only available for half the episode (one day in Orlando), her presence was welcome to 'Idol' and Broadway fans alike.

An Interview With Robert Emmet Lunney

When the first act of Warren Manzi's PERFECT CRIME ends, the audience sits in stone cold silence. The silence lasts for a few moments after the houselights are brought up and when the audience does finally react, they are abuzz about the convolutions of the plot that is unraveling before them. According to actor Robert Emmet Lunney it's 'hopefully because the audience is thinking; maybe even perplexed.'
