This magical throwback to Chicago's 'black and tan' nightclubs of the 1920s will take place at secret venue revealed just one week prior to the event, creating a singular experience of mystery.

As it enters its 18th season, About Face Theatre Company is pleased to announce the appointment of three new staff members in key leadership roles. Corinne Neal will serve as the company's Managing Director and Cara Thaxton as AFT's Development Director, both newly created positions. Ali Hoefnagel will succeed Sara Kerastas as AFT's Education and Outreach Director. Kerastas will continue her affiliation and artistic engagement with About Face as an Artistic Associate.

The Board of Directors of About Face Theatre Company has announced that Executive Director Jason Held will be stepping down at the end January to pursue a position with Playworks Chicago. Held, who has served since 2010, will remain with the company on the Board of Directors. The AFT Board has named Jonathan (Jonny) Stacks Interim Executive Director as it launches a search for a new Executive Director.

Artistic Director Bonnie Metzgar and Executive Director Jason Held present the world premiere of WHAT'S THE T? by Sara Kerastas and the About Face Youth Theatre Ensemble, directed by Eric Hoff. Chicago Dramatists and About Face Theatre are proud to co-produce the world premiere of THE KID THING by Chicago Dramatists Resident Playwright and About Face Theatre Artistic Associate Sarah Gubbins. Directed by Joanie Schultz, THE KID THING will preview September 1st, open September 9th and 10th and run through October 16th at Chicago Dramatists, 1105 W. Chicago Ave. Recently, the Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, has named THE KID THING as one of 19 theatre recipients of the second round of The Edgerton Foundation New American Play Awards for 2011. The prestigious grant will fund the extension of the development and rehearsal period of the new play.
