Feleceia B Benton

The stage has always been the place where Feleceia has thrived. Long before she chose to study musical theater as a profession, she was learning and honing her skills as a performer, which it is why it is no surprise that she chose to pursue a B.F.A. in Musical Theater Texas Christian University, and a B.S. in Advertising and Public Relations. While in school, she not only participated on and off the stage, but she also started a Christian dance troupe, Calling in Action, which grew from 12 to 48 members in 3 years during her tenure as manager. She also trained vocally for 5 years under the direction of Colleen Mallette.

Feleceia hit the ground running after graduation and has set foot on almost every North Texas professional stage, including: WaterTower Theatre, Casa Manana, Bass Hall, Dallas Opera, Lyric Stage, Theatre Three, and was most recently seen in Dallas Theatre Center's production of THE WIZ. She was the winner of the 2010 Column Award for Best Actress in a Musical Non-Equity for her performance as Aida at Plaza Theater Company, and was a nominee for Best Choreography in a Musical Non-Equity the same year.

Feleceia has always been one to share her love of the arts with others, which is why it is no surprise that she's found so much gratification working for dance and theatre studios across the Metroplex, such as Kingdom Dance Kids, LifeSong Studio and TeCo Theatrical Productions, and has choreographed for several theaters, including Artisan Center Theatre and Plaza Theatre Company. She's even been instrumental in helping to start several performing arts programs.

Feleceia's skills, however, have never been limited to the stage. Her knack for business and organization have fueled her as the Director of Operations at Turning Point Christian Academy, a business she helped to start and grow. She is also a freelance graphic designer and marketing consultant for several businesses, including Victus Body Fitness, Real Time Sports and Entertainment and LifeCare Prosthetics & Orthotics. Feleceia is very active within her community as a member of the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce, DeSoto's mayoral intiative, Project Create Community, and the DeSoto Arts Commission.

This native Texan knows the talent that lies in the boundaries of this great state, so it is her goal to help refine the skills of those that call Texas their home who want to have careers in performance. However, Feleceia's ultimate goal and passion is to share and spread the love of Christ through everything she does, and to always strive to make His name famous in every endeavor. Proverbs 22:1.
