A Christmas Carol returns to Cygnet Theatre for its eighth season of cheer. It has become a true holiday favorite, with San Diegans making Scrooge, the Spirits, and the Cratchit family part of their holiday tradition.

A trio of creatives are making their Moonlight debuts and are leading Moonlight Stage Productions’ second show of its 41st summer season, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” with performances at the Moonlight Amphitheatre. Featured amongst the cast are some of San Diego’s most treasured theatre veterans in starring roles.

Welk Resorts Theatre today announced its 2019 season kicks off March 15 with San Diego theatre royalty starring in 'Menopause the Musical.' The 29th season of the famed Welk Theatre, which underwent a lobby remodel in 2018, also features Tony Award-nominated 'The Addams Family,' which will run Sept. 6 to Nov. 10, and Larry Raben's new 'Welkome Home for the Holidays!' running Nov. 22 to Dec. 29.  Weekly variety shows featuring popular classic rock tribute bands (The Eagles, Beatles and Neil Diamond) round out the season.

Hairspray runs August 3 - September 2, 2018 at the historic Horton Grand Theatre, with press opening on Saturday, August 4 at 8:00 PM.

The madcap musical comedy, On the Twentieth Century, features the writing talents of Betty Comden and Adolph Greene. Original music was composed byCy Coleman, who was honored with Tony Awards for Best Original Score & Best Book (1978). This musical comedy team lent their unique comic genius and sophisticated wit to dozens of Broadway hits including On the Town and Bells are Ringing. On the Twentieth Century will be directed by Sean Murray. The production runs March 9 through April 30. Opening night for media is March 18.

Musical Theatre Guild, the winner of the Los Angles Drama Critic's Circle Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in the theatre, will continue their 2013-2014 season with the hilarious RUTHLESS! THE MUSICAL. The one-night-only concert will take place at the Moss Theatre at New Roads School in Santa Monica on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 7:00 pm.

On Monday, February 24 at 7:30 PM, Martinis Above Fourth Table + Stage and Sher Krieger Events are presenting "Girl Talk: Gossip & Gimmicks - A Cabaret Event with Leigh Scarritt, Eileen Bowman and Danielle Forsgren.

Dominating the nominations in the musical category is the current Broadway sensation 'A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder,' which made its world premiere in February 2013 at San Diego's The Old Globe (a co-production with Hartford Stage). The musical racked up 11 nominations, including nods for New Musical, its versatile star Jefferson Mays (a UC San Diego alumnus) and its director Darko Tresnjak (former co-artistic director and Shakespeare Festival director at The Old Globe).
