Word for Word's Off the Page Staged Reading Series Continues Next Week

Word for Word's Off the Page staged reading series is back for 2023. The next performance is on March 27, 7 pm at the American Bookbinders Museum and will feature two stories by Kevin Barry, “Who’s Dead McCarthy” and 'The Wintersongs,' both directed by Word for Word Core Company Member Paul Finocchiaro.

Marin Shakespeare Company Announces 2018 Season

Marin Shakespeare Company, Marin County's only professional Shakespeare theatre, announces its 2018 outdoor summer season - a season exploring complex and compelling men and women. Presented under the summer stars, Marin Shakespeare's 29th season includes "Hamlet," "Shakespeare's Will," a spirited and sensual imagining of the life of Anne Hathaway by Canadian playwright Vern Thiessen, and "Pericles." The 2018 season is in partial repertory, with performances beginning in May and ending early August. There will be some Thursday evening performances this year. The theatre plans to make major renovations to the Forest Meadows Amphitheatre following the 2018 summer season.

The stories are from Lucia Berlin's posthumously published, critically acclaimed, A Manual for Cleaning Women featuring the stories 'Her First Detox', 'Emergency Room Notebook 1977', 'Unmanageable', '502' and 'Here It Is Saturday'. Directed by Nancy Shelby and JoAnne Winter, Lucia Berlin:Stories is set to an evocative jazz score by Marcus Shelby, and illuminated with vibrant projections by Naomie Kremer.
