David Moorst BIO

David Moorst won Best Newcomer (Critics' Circle) and Emerging Talent Award (Evening Standard) a year after graduating from LAMDA. He was at the Bridge Theatre last summer in Allelujah!.
His other theatre credits include Shopping and F-ing at the Lyric Hammersmith, Into the Woods for the Royal Exchange Theatre, Violence and Son at the Royal Court and Wonderland at Hampstead Theatre. His television and film credits include Grantchester, Partners in Crime, Holby City and Peterloo. David was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Olivier Award for his role of Dill Harris in To Kill a Mockingbird.

Aaron Sorkin’s hit Broadway adaptation of Harper Lee’s seminal 1960 novel has finally reached us, following Covid delays and a few real-life legal dramas. Lee’s estate sued Sorkin for making changes to the characters, while the since publicly disgraced (and removed) Mockingbird producer Scott Rudin bullied every other adaptation of Lee’s book off the stage.

David Moorst's acting credits range from A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Bridge Theatre and Violence and On at the Royal Court to TV shows like Killing Eve and Grantchester and films Peterloo and Waiting for the Barbarians. His current project is Aaron Sorkin's stage adaptation of Harper Lee's seminal novel, now playing at the Gielgud Theatre in London's West End. Moorst plays Dill Harris, best friend of the novel's narrator Scout Finch. The cast also features Rafe Spall as Atticus Finch, Gwyneth Keyworth as Scout, and Harry Redding as Jem Finch.
