It should come as no surprise whatsoever that the opening night audience for NCT's holiday season offering of Disney's The Little Mermaid rewarded the cast and crew with loud cheers, sustained applause and, more importantly, their rapt attention - were it not for the fact that last night's audience was comprised primarily of (how will we say it without offending?) more experienced theater-goers.

For Catherine Birdsong, the animated film version of The Little Mermaid - the 1989 Disney musical fantasy based on the story of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen - was the first movie she remembers ever seeing in a darkened cinema and it continues to elicit memories, to reverberate in her heart, particularly now that she finds herself in rehearsal for the debut of the stage musical at Nashville Children's Theatre.

"Siren's Den: A New Rock Musical," will be presenting songs from the show at Theater Row's Acorn Theater, sponsored by the New York New Work's Theatre Festival on September 5th at 7pm.

Dazzlingly updated Cinderella sparkles on the Starlight Theatre stage. June 29 through July 1, 2018. Rediscover this ages old story as an enormously talented ensemble cast gives it a fresh spin.

State Theatre New Jersey presents Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 7:30pm and Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2pm and 7:30pm. The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical is packed with magic, romance, and glass slippers, in addition to the Rodgers & Hammerstein's original songs like Impossible/It's Possible, In My Own Corner, Ten Minutes Ago, and more. Tickets range from $35-$98.

Wrapping up Cortland Repertory Theatre's season from tonight, August 30, through September 9 is the new musical LIFE COULD BE A DREAM, written and created by Roger Bean, with musical arrangements by Roger Bean and Jon Newton and featuring the greatest 'doo-wop' hits of the '60's. Cortland Repertory Theatre closes their 46th annual summer season of professional live theatre with the regional premiere of the fun and funny doo-wop musical, "Life Could Be a Dream". Written and created by Roger Bean with musical arrangements by Roger Bean and Jon Newton, the show features some of the greatest pop hits of the 1950's and '60's. Performances will run for three weeks, from August 30 - September 16 with evening show times at 7:30.  Matinees are available on September 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 10th and 13th at 2:00 PM.  Tickets may be purchased by calling 800-427-6160 or at the CRT Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland. Casting for 'Siren's Den: A New Rock Musical' is complete!  The cast stars *Lindsey Lake (Rent Tour) as rockstar, Skylar Cole, Andrea Leach (Beauty and the Beast Int'l Tour) as Jessie, *Chris Gleim (Jesus Christ Superstar Tour) as Logan, *Adam R. Kaster (The Golden Bride) as Garrett, and *Alan Gillespie (Miss Saigon Tour) as Bar Manager/Kurtis Katz.  The show's creator, Rori Nogee (Showgirls, the Musical!) will play Remy Morgan.  The Vultures will be played by Lauren Chastain, Jonte Culpepper (Bayside, the Musical!), Musa Hitomi, Frankie Shin, Erin Ullman and Corbin Williams (The Grinch Who Stole Christmas).
