Susan Corzatte and Adam Standley Star in ArtsWest's 4000 MILES, Running Now thru 2/15

ArtsWest is pleased to welcome to the stage veteran actress Susan Corzatte in the role of Vera Joseph in Amy Herzog's Pulitzer Prize finalist, 4000 Miles. Susan is joined by the recently named City Arts 2015 Future List Thespian Adam Standley in the role of Leo, and accomplished Seattle actresses Adria LaMorticella as Bec, and Sara Porkalob as Amanda.

Husband-Wife Team Wins TPS' 2013 Gregory A. Falls Sustained Achievement Award; Ceremony Set for 10/28

Theatre Puget Sound (TPS) has announced husband and wife team, John Kazanjian and Mary Ewald as the 2013 recipients of the Gregory A. Falls Sustained Achievement Award. The committee of prior recipients has made this selection to honor their dedication to the Seattle theatre community, much of it through their efforts with The New City Theatre. This award along with 17 others will be presented at the 5th Annual Gregory Awards being held at The Neptune Theatre on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 7:30pm.

Endangered Species Project is tickled to once again blow the dust off an undeservedly dusty script - the astoundingly charming family comedy, THE REMARKABLE MR. PENNYPACKER. Playwright Liam O'Brien honors, by reference and imitation, the great George Bernard Shaw, who died two years before PENNYPACKER's premiere. The play, O'Brien's only work for the stage, was founded on a true story that occurred in O'Brien's family.

The play was last performed professionally in Seattle at the Bathhouse Theatre in 1985, and through the kind auspices of the Seattle Public Theatre, Juno returns to the Bathhouse there via ESP's May 21 reading, tonight.

Gamblers and gangsters, shysters and low-lifes alike will take over The 5th Avenue Theatre when Guys and Dolls swaggers on to the stage in a swinging reimagining of Frank Loesser's iconic hit (book by Joe Swerling and Abe Burrows.) Featuring beloved hit songs including 'Luck Be a Lady,' 'If I were a Bell,' 'Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat,' and the titular song 'Guys and Dolls,' this celebrated ode to American gangsters and the dolls that love them was hailed by the New York Times as 'the show that defines Broadway dazzle,' with Newsweek declaring 'This is why Broadway was born!' ESP announces, as its May reading, George Bernard Shaw's Getting Married. The family members of the Bishop of Chelsea come to his house on the day he is readying his youngest daughter for marriage, and all manner of romantic hell breaks loose. One of the Bishop's brothers is madly pursuing the Bishop's sister-in-law, who herself has definite ideas about not traipsing down the aisle; the other brother is getting divorced from a wife who is rather seriously interested in having two husbands.
