It’s the dawn of a titillating new season at Sacramento Theatre Company (STC) and this one may be the best yet!  The 2022-2023 Season of Curiosity, Intrigue, and Suspense kicked off with previews of the adaptation of Agatha Christie’s famous whodunit, Murder on the Orient Express.  Published in 1934 to rave reviews, the story has stood the test of time.  Versions have been performed on stage, television, and, most recently, in a 2017 film featuring Kenneth Branagh.

San Francisco Playhouse announced casting for Follies by James Goldman and Stephen Sondheim. The musical will run on the San Francisco Playhouse Mainstage from June 30 through September 10, 2022. Bill English will direct, with music direction by Dave Dobrusky and choreography by Nicole Helfer. This marks the first fully staged professional production of Follies in San Francisco.

San Francisco's 42nd Street Moon (Daren A.C. Carollo and Daniel Thomas, Co-Executive Directors) has announced the full cast and creative team for Moon's first 2019 production, the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical FIORELLO!

Hillbarn Theatre, the Peninsula's premier theatre company, announced today that the Demon Barber of Fleet Street will terrorize the streets of Foster City with Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's bloody-fun musical thriller, Sweeney Todd.  Hailed as 'a staggering theater spectacle and more fun than a graveyard on the night of the annual skeleton's ball," (New York Daily News), Sweeney Todd will perform at Hillbarn Theatre (1285 East Hillsdale Blvd., Foster City) January 24-February 10, 2019. The performance schedule is as follows: Thursdays-Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.; there will be no matinee Saturday, January 26. Now Sacramento is fortunate to have the opportunity to experience the tale that author Miguel de Cervantes began in 1605.
