Founding Artistic Director Akia, announced today that Rising Sun Performance Company has invited 8 new artists to join its resident ensemble company. These artistic relationships grew from the company’s internal artistic development programs and virtual programming last season. 

The play lineup has been announced for the Rites of Spring, Rising Sun Performance Company's upcoming Virtual Theatre Festival. These talents come from Indie, Regional, and Off-Broadway theatre, and the plays will be presented as LIVE virtual performances on Saturday, March 13th at 8 PM and Sunday, March 14th at 5 PM.

Founding Artistic Director Akia Squitieri announced the Creative Teams for Rising Sun Performance Company's 'The Rites of Spring' Virtual Theatre Festival today. 'Rites of Spring' was co-conceived by the staff and creatives of Rising Sun Performance Company, featuring the talents of 60 Artists.

Streaming Live exactly one year after theaters have been closed, this virtual play festival will offer eight original plays focused on spring’s renewal, hope, and various traditions. Through Rites of Spring, we continue our exploration of this ever-changing and growing new medium, and expand on how we foster theatrical creativity. 

Founding Artistic Director Akia, announced today that Rising Sun Performance Company recently concluded its ensemble auditions. This was the first open call since 2017 held specifically for resident ensemble members.

Smallest One Productions will present a one night only benefit concert at The West End Lounge on Monday, January 27th at 7 pm. Featuring a line up of alumni from their cabaret series, Campy Cabaret, the night will be raising money for the fight for gun control.

After scoring critical acclaim and sold out performances earlier this fall in Brooklyn, immersive hit THE HIDDEN ONES returns for and extended run beginning November 1 at an undisclosed venue in Midtown Manhattan near the 50th Street stop on the A/C subway line. Presented by Miller-Coffman Productions, THE HIDDEN ONES was conceived and directed by Anthony Logan Cole (Les Miserables, Curiosities) and choreographed by Whitney Sprayberry (Seeing You, Jagged Little Pill).

Set in a time near the end of World War II, this dance-heavy immersive piece ushers 12 audience members on a journey into a secret location where they are smuggled into a world of true stories of those forced into hiding. The Hidden Ones brings the audience face to face not only with history, but with stories of raw love and humanity as they observe two families work to overcome extraordinary circumstances in the darkest of times.

The Dolphin Show, America's largest student-produced musical, announces TITANIC as the 73rd Annual Dolphin Show. TITANIC is to be directed by Communication senior Brendan Flynn and produced by Communication senior Jack Eidson and School of Education and Social Policy senior Izzy Garcia, with support from a cast and team of over 150 Northwestern University students. TITANIC will run for five performances from tonight, January 23rd through January 30th in Cahn Auditorium.
