Cammerron Baits (Director/Actor) a graduate from BYU-Idaho, with a passion for people and the stories they have to tell. He is grateful to be able to play make believe for a living, His favorite directorial experience to date has been "Maximalista". Some favorite past acting credits include Ricky (Making Porn: A comedy) Lysander (Midsummer Nights Dream) and Alan stang (Equus). You can see him next directing "Hal and His Atomic Laser Beam" here at the Manhattan Rep. March 9th- 10th @ 6:30pm. Spring's Awakening, the classic play by Frank Wedekend that inspired the popular musical, opens this weekend at the Producers Club Sonnet Theater. When asked about this tragic-comedy of the teenage experience of sexual awakening's Wedekind often referred to this show as the Child's Tragedy. As the central characters face the transition into adulthood they are faced with discovering what that means for them and how it will impact their self identity as too often this subject is not one that would be discussed with the adults of this society. As preconceived notions fade, and paradigms shift, the illusions are Shed and Melchior will have to come to terms with the consequences of his actions.

MAXIMALISTA Now At The Hudson Guild Theater

Maximalista, playing this weekend at The Hudson Guild Theatre, has been praised by the Huffington Post as 'Zesty yet also smart and sympathetic.' This one act play follows Davi, who is a lover, painter, mother, and dreamer trying to hide her struggle with mental health and hyper-sexuality. Her journey is one both full of pain and pleasure as she searches for that much needed release, while fighting to reconnect with her estranged family. It is a meditation on art, family, and how far people will go to escape their inner demons.
