A new clip from the Broadway Rising documentary has released a new clip featuring producer Kevin McCollum. The video features footage from McCollum's offices as general tickets go on sale for SIX and Doubtfire on May 10, 2021 after it was announced that Broadway would be reopening after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Broadway flocked to the 2022 Tribeca Festival or the premiere of BROADWAY RISING, which tells the inspiring journey back to the stage and the toll of the pandemic on the Broadway community after a historic closure. Check out photos from the special evening!

In early December, I had a chance to speak with Brian Blythe, one of the creators of the Costume Industry Coalition and the Showstoppers exhibit that ran until December 5th in Times Square. We reflected on the creation of Showstoppers and how the costume industry has been impacted by the pandemic, as well as what theatre fans can do to help the industry recover.. Enjoy!

Showstoppers! Spectacular Costumes from Stage & Screen, the interactive costume exhibition in the heart of Times Square, will reopen tomorrow after being forced to close its doors on October 5 due to a major water leak.

Showstoppers! Spectacular Costumes from Stage & Screen, the acclaimed interactive costume exhibition in the heart of Times Square, will be temporarily closed due to flooding. Organizers hope that the Exhibition, which benefits the already beleaguered custom costume industry in NYC, will reopen next week. 

The Broadway Education Alliance, a New York based 501.c3 organization, and WPBS-TV, a PBS LearningMedia Content Contributor, will co-present a 5-part series of educational workshops called At This Stage @ SHOWSTOPPERS!

Shows with costumes on display will include A Soldier's Play, Aladdin, Chicago, Come From Away, The Cher Show, Dear Evan Hansen, Frozen, Golden Child, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, The Lion King, Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Mrs. Doubtfire, The Phantom of the Opera, SIX, Wicked, and more!

The Costume Industry Coalition has the support of one of the theatre industry’s greatest champions: Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton.The costume industry is an essential but often unseen part of New York City’s arts and culture landscape: they create, supply and care for costumes for stage, dance, television, film, opera, concerts and more.

The Costume Industry Coalition has announced the launch of its emergency relief campaign with a matching challenge up to $100,000 for the coalition, beginning today. All donations received between now and September 25th will be matched dollar for dollar. The fundraising goal for the campaign is set at $4.5 million.

The Costume Industry Coalition--a group of 50 small, unique, independent businesses and artisans that create and supply costumes for the entertainment industry--is introducing CIC Members with a new CIC Features video series.
