Applied Mechanics is returning with their newest creation Other Orbits Episode One: PlaNet  Radio,  an  eclectic  radio broadcast about the obscure festivals, slow jams, and scandals of this cooperative, sci-fi world. Other Orbits is a serial multi-media play created by Applied Mechanics. Episode One: PlaNet Radio premieres June 30 - July 31, 2021.

Created by award winning playwright- director-performer Alexandra Espinoza, BlackBestFriend is part fantasia, part group therapy and part messy revenge play about a group of Black Femmes who recruit an army of like minded Black Femmes who must break up with their white best friends in order to realize their personal and collective liberation.

Quintessence Theatre Group, Philadelphia's professional classic repertory theatre, closes out its 10th Anniversary season with its first-ever three show repertory. From March 25-May 17, 2020 the company is presenting the Dreams and Madness Repertory. Each of these three plays explores the danger of love, the difference between dreams and madness, and the destructive power of authority and government. 

Philadelphia choreographer Annie Wilson brings original dances to the Fringe festival for the first time since the smash hit Lovertits (2014). bilialien an evening of three 20-minute pieces: bite sized explorations of wailing, faux-futurism, heavenly creatures, and trash. Lots of trash. 

Simpatico Theatre Company closes their 'Season of System Failures' with the regional premiere of a new play that explores the effect that class has on parenthood in America. Molly Smith Metzler's CRY IT OUT will perform at The Louis Bluver Theatre at The Drake (302 S. Hicks Street, Philadelphia, PA) from June 5 to June 23, 2019. Simpatico will partner with PAAL, the Parent Artist Advocacy League, during this production to offer a variety of family-friendly opportunities for artists and audiences that focus on the working parent. Opening night for press is Friday, June 7 at 8PM.

Directors Gathering (DG), a Philadelphia-based membership organization that provides development, community, and process-based opportunities for regional theatre directors, is excited to announce their 2019 (DG) Jam, a day-long workshop, performance, and celebration of theatre directors and their original work. This special event, which is akin to a performing arts take of the popular television baking competition The Great British Bake-Off, will take place on May 11, 2019 at The Painted Bride Arts Center in Philadelphia. The public is invited to the event starting at 6PM.

Quintessence Theatre Group, a professional classic theatre company located in Philadelphia's Mt. Airy neighborhood, takes on Shakespeare's greatest tragedy this spring. KING LEAR, a searing drama about the dangers of absolute power, comes to Quintessence from March 19, 2019 through April 20, 2019. Opening night is Saturday, March 23 at 7:30PM.

The Philadelphia Artists' Collective returns to the Philadelphia FringeArts Festival with a hauntingly beautiful site-specific work by the famous author of Peter Pan. Mary Rose, by J.M. Berrie, will be presented both inside the historic and ornate mansion - and outside under the stars in the cemetery itself. The show runs for a total of 12 performances through September 22, 2018. After producing six world premiere plays by Philadelphia playwrights, Orbiter 3 is presenting their seventh and final production this May: A People by L M Feldman. Philadelphia Asian Performing Artists (PAPA) solidify their presence in the city with their first full production, Tiger Style! By Mike Lew. Travelling from California to China this raucous comedy examines the successes and failures of 'tiger parenting' from the point of view of a playwright who's actually been through it.This hilarious and fast-paced story of the struggle of two siblings to deal with their upbringing, heritage, and loaded preconceptions was described by ArtsATL as 'a spirited, fast-paced, colorful, funny and entertaining romp that's as energetic as it is easy to like.'

Theater Breaking Through Barriers celebrates the 50th anniversary of The Ridiculous Theatrical Company with the first Off-Broadway revival of THE ARTIFICIAL JUNGLE by Charles Ludlam. It is directed by Everett Quinton, who co-starred in the 1986 premiere and was the Artistic Director of The Ridiculous from 1987-1997.
