​​​​​​​Wet Ink Ensemble appears at the Playhouse Theater at Abrons Arts Center for AIR Concerts 04 on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 7:30pm. The Wet Ink band is joined by innovative improvisers that include bassoonist Katherine Young (also a 2021-22 Artist-In-Residence), vocalist Charmaine Lee, and trombonist Weston Olencki.

Korean American violinist Jennifer Koh has been awarded the Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Solo for her recording Alone Together, released by Cedille Records and based on her online performance series of the same name created in response to the coronavirus pandemic and the financial hardship it has placed on many in the arts community. The album features 39 world premiere recordings of new works by established and emerging composers. Ms. Koh received the award at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony held in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 3. 

From May 4-7, 2022 in Brooklyn, Music at the Anthology presents the MATA Festival, New York's most cutting-edge showcase for experimental early career composers and sound artists, for the first time in two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

New England Conservatory faculty members Mehmet Ali Sanlıkol, Jason Moran and Nasheet Waits andalumni Jamie Branch and Felipe Salles have each been awarded 2021 Jazz Road Creative Residencies Grants of up to $40,000 from South Arts.

The 2019-2020 season sees the innovative JACK Quartet continuing to push the boundaries of contemporary music, with a series of performances in the ensemble's hometown of New York City, tours to Europe in both the Fall and Spring, numerous premieres of new works, performances of the complete quartets of John Zorn and Clara Iannotta, the inaugural JACK Frontiers festival, and the inaugural season of the ensemble's new JACK Studio program. 

In its Centennial year, the Los Angeles Philharmonic continues to grow in its commitment to supporting the creation of new music and nurturing young composers through two programs: National Composers Intensive (NCI), for composers ages 18 to 30, and the Nancy and Barry Sanders Composer Fellowship Program (CFP) for high school-aged composers. For the first time, the NCI program collaborates with New York City-based International Contemporary Ensemble (the Ensemble) to work with seven composers who will have the opportunity to workshop their pieces, both in New York and in Los Angeles, culminating in a performance at Walt Disney Concert Hall.
