Welcome to Bea's NYCC Speed Interview Series! As I attended New York Comic Con 2021 (October 7-10, 2021), I did a series of short interviews with influential creators. For issue #8, here's a speed interview with James C. Mulligan, an artist for The Walt Disney Company. His paintings are collected by impressive names, including (but not limited to!) Johnny Depp, Roger Daltrey, Neil Patrick Harris, (the late) Hugh Hefner, Chuck Liddel and the Presley family. Before his current work with Disney, he performed in national Broadway tours.

Cabaret is Alive and Well and Living in Los Angeles, benefit concert weekend for The Actors Fund, is back for the 6th year in a row. Conceived and Directed by David Galligan, the 3-night event is presented by Fraser Entertainment Group. All proceeds benefit The Actors Fund.

In association with Temecula Presents and the Temecula Valley Symphony, The Barn Stage Company closes out its 2016/2017 Broadway Concert Series with Lerner & Loewe's classic musical Camelot in Concert. LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & McCOY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT opened the first show of its 2016-2017 season, the Los Angeles premiere production of THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, book by Peter Parnell, musical direction by Dennis Castellano, choreography by Dana Solimando and directed by Glenn Casale.  THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME is running through Sunday, October 9, 2016 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada.   BroadwayWorld brings you a first look at the opening night celebration below!

The La Mirada Symphony presented the first annual Golden Clef Awards Gala Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. The Southland Theatre Artists Goodwill Event (S.T.A.G.E.) Benefit titled Sondheim 5, took place June 18th at Beverly Hills' beautiful Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in benefit of AIDS Project Los Angeles.  The much anticipated event, was once again directed by David Galligan.  Michael Orland served as Musical Director, with Choreography by Lee Martino; and BroadwayWorld TV's own Michael Sterling was on hand to talk to the stars just prior to their first of two performances.

Broadway and ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" sweetheart, MARISSA JARET WINOKUR, makes her return to the All-Star cast of the 32nd annual Southland Theatre Artists Goodwill Event (STAGE), Sondheim No. 5, taking place on Saturday, June 18th at the beautiful Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills.  Performances will be at 2:00pm and 8:00pm and benefit AIDS Project Los Angeles.

Disney's and Cameron Mackintosh's MARY POPPINS, a musical based on the stories of P.L. Travers and the Walt Disney film, with original music & lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman and book by Julian Fellowes, featuring new songs and additional music & lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, just opened at La Mirada Theatre and runs through June 21, 2015. Everybody's favorite character actress/singer/ comedienne from stage, TV and film Mary Jo Catlett will appear in S.T.A.G.E on May 9 at 7: 30 at the Saban in Beverly Hills. This year's show is entitled To Broadway from Hollywood...with Love. What are you doing in the show this year?
