Amazon Studios has acquired LUCY AND DESI, a drama written by WEST WING scribe Aaron Sorkin. Cate Blanchett will reportedly take on the role of the legendary comedian and television pioneer, Lucille Ball.

This August 6 will mark the 116th anniversary of the birth of TV's all-time “queen of comedy,” Lucille Ball, and getTV is celebrating with three back to back one hour series episodes featuring guest appearances by Lucy.

Recapturing the glamour of New York's swank hotspots like The Copacabana and The Blue Angel, Purl invokes the smoky, after-hours world of the 1940s and 50s. With musical direction by Tedd Firth, "Midnight Caravan" includes songs such as "Easy Living," "I Thought About You," and "My Romance," to name just a few.
