Following a successful first series in 2021, Talawa Stories is returning to BBC Radio 4 with three fresh, powerful audio dramas in 2024, presented by Talawa, the UK’s outstanding Black theatre company. 

After 15 years of marriage, Daniel and Sylvia find themselves drifting further apart with each passing day. When they are abruptly united by every parent’s worst nightmare, the couple are forced into a confrontation with years of resentment and things long left unsaid rising to the surface, as they question how on earth they ended up in this position.

Four actresses with vast collective experience spanning theatre, TV, film and acting training have joined forces to launch Mawa Theatre Company, the UK's first all-Black, all female Shakespeare Company.

‘Stop the Show’ is a new online musical with music by composers Daniel Curtis and Laura Coyne. The musical is produced by Hundred Acre Productions, Gregory George, and Daniel Curtis. The show is set in a theatre and is to be filmed on location at the Kenneth More Theatre in London this coming weekend.

Leicester's Curve and Birmingham Hippodrome today announce the full casting for their co-production of Oprah Winfrey's hit Broadway musical, The Color Purple, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker. The production, the first to be created outside of London in the UK, will play at Curve, Leicester from 28th June 13th July, followed by 16th 20th July at Birmingham Hippodrome, with a national press night at Curve on Wednesday 3rd July at 7pm.
