Andy Mientus (“Spring Awakening”), Krystina Alabado (“Mean Girls”) and Noah J. Ricketts (“Disney’s Frozen”) will star in a new production of Jonathan Larson’s “Tick, Tick … Boom!” as part of Bucks County Playhouse’s 2023 Season. 

Before there was Rent, there was tick, tick... BOOM!. International City Theatre will open its 2023 'Embracing the Future' season with a pop/rock musical by Jonathan Larson about the courage it takes to follow one's dreams.

BoHo Theatre will close out its 2022/2023 season with TICK, TICK…BOOM!, with music, lyrics, and book by the late Jonathan Larson, and directed by Bo Frazier. This production marks the company’s first musical since BIG FISH in 2019.

The work of Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning composer Jonathan Larson returns to Portland Center Stage after a 7-week run of his blockbuster musical Rent. Larson's autobiographical musical tick, tick … BOOM! was written before Rent and is in many ways its origin story. Featuring a similarly rocking score, it offers a backstage tour of the love and sweat Larson put into making his Broadway musical dreams a reality. 

Jonathan Larson's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning rock musical Rent takes over Portland Center Stage hot off its 25th anniversary. Rent will be directed by PCS's Associate Artistic Director Chip Miller. It begins previews on May 21, opens on May 27, and runs through July 10 on the U.S. Bank Main Stage. The production, originally slated to run through June 26, has already been extended due to strong ticket sales.

The album will be based on a concert originally presented at Feinstein's/54 Below, directed and conceived by Jennifer Ashley Tepper, and featuring music supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Charlie Rosen. The show features the music of the late composer Jonathan Larson, who wrote Rent and tick tick BOOM, the former an iconic Broadway landmark and the latter a beloved musical gem. Houston Grand Opera (HGO) continues its series of holiday operas with the world premiere presentation of The House without a Christmas Tree by the widely admired composer/librettist team of Ricky Ian Gordon and Royce Vavrek, in the HGO Resilience Theater at the George R. Brown Convention Center. The opera is based on the uplifting story by Gail Rock and the beloved 1972 television film of the same name about a family that is healed by the holiday spirit. A precocious daughter struggles to understand her father's resentment of the holidays and longs for a beautiful Christmas tree like other families have, to make her house look happy. The opera includes a new setting of the carol Gather Around the Christmas Tree, sung by a juvenile chorus. Tickets for the new venue are available at HGO.org. Group discounts are available. Parking for HGO's performances will be available at the Avenida North garage located at 1815 Rusk Street, across from HGO's new venue. The live musical production of the groundbreaking, Tony Award-, Grammy Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical RENT will air Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019 (7:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.

On Saturday, October 14 at 2:00 p.m.,Orchestra of St. Luke's returns to Carnegie Hall as three fantastic family-friendly stories are brought to life through music. Prokofiev's classic Peter and the Wolf is performed alongside two new compositions: Caroline Shaw's adaptation of The Mountain That Loved a Bird byAlice McLerran, commissioned by Carnegie Hall, and Robert Xavier Rodriguez's take on a favorite children's book, The Dot and the Line by Norton Juster, author of The Phantom Tollbooth, with the author in attendance for the performance. Edwin Outwater conducts, and renowned actor John Lithgow narrates this special Family Concert in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.
