Cherry Lane Theatre To Present The World Premiere Of ACTUALLY, WE'RE F**KED

Cherry Lane Theatre is proud to announce dates for its upcoming Off-Broadway presentation of Matt Williams' ACTUALLY, WE'RE F**KED, directed by John Pasquin. Performances will begin on February 26, the production will open on March 7, and run through April 7, 2019 at Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street). Four Millennials order take out, drink too much wine and argue over how to save the planet. They know they're the generation to fix it, and are up to the task, until someone shares a life-changing announcement, and they begin to question whether they should really eat that sushi from the deli with the cat in the window.


Matt Williams (Playwright) has worked in theater, film and television as a writer, director, actor and producer. His playwriting credits include Bruce Lee Is Dead and I'm Not Feeling Too Good Either, Jason and the Nun (Double Image Festival Award), Between Daylight and Boonville (Kennedy Center), and Fear (developed by the New Harmony Project and Midtown Direct Rep). He directed the world premiere of the musical Open Heart at the Cherry Lane Theatre and produced The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin at Playwrights Horizons. TV: Roseanne, Home Improvement and The Cosby Show. Film: What Men Want, The Keeping Room, Bernie, What Women Want and Where the Heart Is. John Pasquin (Director) is a director, and producer of film, television, and theatre. His first play in New York was Michael Weller's Moonchildren, for which he won an Obie. He then worked for Joe Papp at The Public Theatre and the New York Shakespeare Festival, directing original work by John Guare: Landscape of the Body, with Shirley Knight and Murray Abraham, and Thom Babe's Kid Champion, with Chris Walken. In the Park he directed Comedy of Errors with a cast of clowns, and Measure for Measure, with Meryl Streep and Sam Waterston. He has directed at most East Coast Rep Theaters including Long Wharf, McCarter, Center Stage, & Arena Stage. He was the original Producer/Director for Home Improvement and Last Man Standing and has received a People's Choice Award, and been nominated for three Emmys for his work on Home Improvement and L.A. Law. He has also directed four films including The Santa Clause, and Miss Congeniality II.

Casting for the production will be announced soon. The show will feature set design by Robin Vest (NYC: And Then There Were None), lighting design by Paul Miller (Broadway: Amazing Grace, Legally Blonde), costume design by Theresa Squire (Broadway: High Fidelity) and sound design by ML Dogg / MuTTT (Broadway: Straight White Man), projection design by Brad Peterson (Broadway: Fish in the Dark), casting by Stephanie Klapper, production stage manager is Chis Catti.

Actually, We're F**Ked is presented as part of CLT's Founder's Project whose productions have included Out of the Mouths of Babes, starring Estelle Parsons and Judith Ivey and The Traveling Lady starring Karen Ziemba and Lynn Cohen.

One of the most renowned theatres in the country, Cherry Lane Theatre has produced a large succession of plays by leading writers from F. Scott Fitzgerald to Gertrude Stein, Samuel Beckett, Edward Albee and Harold Pinter. Cherry Lane Theatre was founded by Angelina Fiordellisi in 1996, and remains devoted to developing and producing new works for the stage. Seri Lawrence is Artistic Director, Reed Ridgley is Development Manager, Sangeeta Bhagat is Director of Individual and Corporate Giving, Lex Morton is Facility Manager, and Mary Geerlof is Director of Community Engagement.
