As resident choreographer, Alan Lucien Øyen brings to the Oslo Opera House a wide range of scenic expression. Øyen moves effortlessly from the ballet Petrushka, set to Stravinsky's music, to five hours of riotous theatre in Coelacanth, which was nominated for Natt & Dag's Oslo Prize Award in 2013.
In Lilly & George, Øyen and his co-writers confront their mothers and fathers with choices and decisions they made on behalf of themselves and their children. Two monologues, one in Norwegian and one in English, create a whole in which opposing emotions spill out: love and bitterness, death and wonder.
