In 2013 it is 100 years since women got the vote in Norway. At the same time, there are 200 years ago the diverse feminist campaigner and pioneer woman Camilla Collett was born in Kristiansand, Norway. Her life forms the base for five opera thumbnails to be written and performed by students from the seaweed and Dahlske high schools. An important aspect of life was their different Colletts roles she herself had. She was the daughter of the prominent In Holt Nicolai Wergeland, Henrik Wergeland, sister of happy and unhappy in love with Johan, wife to Welhavens Welhaven friend Peter Jonas Collett and finally single MOM to four sons. She lived at in a male dominated world and even experienced a dramatic class journey from good to bad living conditions.
