AGATHA CHRISTIE'S WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION

Director - Rae Randall

Audition Dates - Monday and Tuesday, December 16th & 17th at 7pm,

No appointment necessary.

Location: Lake Worth Playhouse, 713 Lake Avenue Lake Worth, FL 33460

Performance Schedule: February 27th to March 15th, 2020

Rehearsal Schedule: TBD but generally will take place on weeknights from approximately 6:30 to 10pm. Weekend rehearsals also may be added.

Requirements: Please prepare a two-minute dramatic monologue. Some actors may be asked to read from the script.

Available Roles:

Carter - Chief Clerk (M/F), 50s-60s: Sir Wilfred's Chief Clerk, a bit officious, but very good at his/her job. Convinced, perhaps rightly, that the world would fall apart without him/her.

Greta - Typist (F), 20s-mid 30s: Sir Wilfred's typist. Afraid of nothing and completely unfazed by Carter. She is competent, but doesn't think every t absolutely has to be crossed.

Mr. Mayhew - Solicitor (M), 40s-50s. Has a bit of a professional crush on Sir Wilfred. He's a competent lawyer and knows his stuff, but won't believe it until Sir Wilfrid tells him so.

Sir Wilfrid Robarts - Barrister (M), 50s+ Brilliant lawyer. He'll tell you this himself. Repeatedly.

Leonard Vole - Murder suspect (M), 20s-30s. Attractive man who has gotten by with his looks and charm for most of his life-and sees no reason for that to change now that he's under suspicion for murder.

Inspector Hearn - Detective (M/F), any age. The Inspector is well acquainted with Sir Wilfred and Mayhew. He/She has seen it all-and it doesn't keep him/her up at night.

Romaine Vole - Femme Fatale (F), 20s-30s (age appropriate with Leonard). German. Attractive but quiet-energy being barely kept in check through sheer force of will. Seems to know she is two steps ahead.

Myers - prosecuting barrister (M/F) 40s-60s. Chief rival of Sir Wilfrid. Nothing Myers likes better than beating Sir Wilfrid, which is fair because nothing Sir Wilfrid likes better than beating Myers.

Judge - (M) 60s+. He has heard every defense, every piece of evidence, every long-winded closing argument. He is beyond surprise-and a little bit tired of it all.

Dr. Wyatt - medical inspector (M/F), 30s. Used to speaking in medical jargon and has no idea why everyone needs him/her to translate.

Janet MacKenzie - housekeeper (F), 40s+. Scottish. Devoted, but would never admit to it. Does her job thoroughly and believes that she knows best for everyone.

Clegg - forensics (M/F) any age. Forensic scientist who testifies on a lot of cases, and tends to come to conclusions on his/her own.
