Dear All,

Our last posting appears to have a dead link. Scenehouse can be found at and you can contact us at

Scenehouse offers the opportunity to spend up to 6 weeks studying design for theatre in the beautiful festival city of Edinburgh. Scenehouse is an international design school offering 12 places a year for committed and enthusiastic arts and humanities graduates who wish to develop a career in scenography.

Study at Scenehouse is intensive and vocational. The full 6 week Program aims to equip students with the technical skills and working cultural knowledge to begin a career in the theatre industry. The program can also be accessed as four shorter courses covering design, props making and scenic art.

Tom Piper, Scenehouse Patron and lead designer of the Royal Shakespeare Company, will be one of several noted professionals coming to speak and spend studio time with students.

This year the program will be delivered primarily from our new studio space at the “Lighthouse Factory” a beautiful mid 19th century building with an iconic lighthouse tower. The factory is located in Granton, a district of Edinburgh rapidly emerging as a new creative hub.

Site visits to the city’s various historic and modern playhouses form a core part of the program, along with technical tours and on-stage training sessions.

The program dovetails with the start of the Edinburgh International Festival and Fringe, the largest arts festival in the world. Applications are now being invited for the 2012 Program: June 25th - August 3rd. See website for full details.
