WAITRESS, the 2016 Broadway musical based on the 2007 movie of the same name, is set to play at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center from November 28 through December 3. WAITRESS follows a pregnant waitress who seeks to change her fortunes through her innovative pies. The show has a lot to offer. Here's just a taste of what's on the menu!

1. All-female creative team.

Since many of these creative roles are often held by men in other productions, this is groundbreaking and empowering for women.

2. Music by Sara Bareilles.

Sara Bareilles, a popular recording artist with six Grammy nominations under her belt, wrote the music and lyrics. The songs range from comic to moving, including hints of pop, country and traditional musical theater fare.

3. Inspirational message.

WAITRESS focuses largely on dealing with life's setbacks and starting fresh. It would take someone crustier than a pie to be left uninspired by a message like that.

4. See the tour before the rest of the country.

The Appleton engagement is not only the Wisconsin premiere of the show, it is also just the fifth stop in the national tour. That means Fox Cities P.A.C. audiences can see the show before audiences in major hubs like Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.

WAITRESS will play at the Fox Cities P.A.C. from November 28 through December 3. Tickets are still available.
