Hello, Dolly! in Broadway HELLO, DOLLY!
Sunset Playhouse
It’s turn-of-the-century New York City when we meet the enchanting, full-of-life widow Dolly Levi. This socialite-turned-matchmaker is actually a “professional meddler”, whose clients include Horace Vandergelder, the cantankerous half-a-millionaire, and a struggling young artist, Ambrose Kemper. The show is boisterous and charming, full of charisma and heart. The memorable Jerry Herman score, including Put On Your Sunday Clothes, Before the Parade Passes By, It Only Takes a Moment, and So Long, Dearie, propelled the beloved musical to an unprecedented ten Tony Awards—a record that stood for 35 years. HELLO, DOLLY! is an irresistible story of the joy of living, alive with the personality of one of the most fabulous characters on the musical stage…Dolly Gallagher Levi!

Third Avenue Playhouse
Featuring a splendid score by the unparalleled Leonard Bernstein, CANDIDE is a witty and wacky satire of an operetta. Based on Voltaire’s 1759 novella of the same name, Candide takes the audience on a round-the-world romp of idealistic optimism as it clashes with a series of absurdly unfortunate events. The young and naïve title character is betrothed to the Baron of Westphalia’s beautiful daughter Cunegonde, and along with the maid Paquette and Cunegonde’s brother Maximilian, they all subscribe firmly to the doctrine that has been instilled in them by their teacher Dr. Pangloss: that everything that occurs is for the best, no matter what. They soon find out that isn’t always the case.
