With Forward march!, Alain Platel and Frank Van Laecke designed a show inspired by the folk traditions. They address the phenomenon of musical society as "miniature community," a group composed of diverse individuals who are trying to adopt a certain musical cadence and walk together in the same direction, which makes a successful metaphor for our society.
