BASH by Neil LaBute in Broadway BASH BY NEIL LABUTE
Whitmore-Lindley Theater Center
10/14-10/21/2017
Neil LaBute’s first published work, BASH is the story of ordinary people hiding a monstrous secret. This trio of unforgettable personal accounts resulted in LaBute’s excommunication from the Mormon Church. In IPHIGENIA IN OREM, a Utah businessman confides in a stranger in a hotel room, confessing a most chilling crime. In A GAGGLE OF SAINTS, a young Mormon couple separately recounts the violent events of an anniversary weekend in New York City. In MEDEA REDUX, a woman tells of her complex and ultimately tragic relationship with her junior high school English teacher. BASH is playing at the Lindley Theater (Whitmore-Lindley Theater Center) in North Hollywood from October 14th - October 21st.

Machinal in Broadway MACHINAL
California Repertory Company
10/13-10/21/2017
Sophie Treadwell's classic Machinal is a powerful drama that explores the deeply corrosive effects of misogyny in America. Machinal tells the story of Helen, a young woman who feels that every decision she makes merely moves her from one cage to another. This social imprisonment forces Helen to confront the question, is there any place a woman can truly be free? Directed by Julianne Just (co-artistic director of The Speakeasy Society), Machinal rings startlingly true for our times.
