Eden Espinosa Returns Home To Perform In Musical Theatre West's Broadway In Concert Series

One of the most exciting voices of her generation, Eden Espinosa has wowed audiences in Broadway's Wicked, Rent, and Brooklyn. Now, the Anaheim-native returns home to perform an intimate evening of Broadway and contemporary favorites as part of Musical Theatre West's Broadway in Concert series on Saturday, March 31, 7pm at the Beverly O'Neill Theatre in Long Beach. Eden Espinosa is most recognized for her critically acclaimed portrayal of Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway and in Los Angeles and San Francisco productions. She originated the title character in Brooklyn the Musical, played Flora in Flora the Red Menace, and Maureen in the closing company of Rent, as well as in the DVD release of the production. On the West Coast, she originated the role of Sadie Thompson, Rain, at The Old Globe Theater. Her television appearances include Law and Order, Elementary, and Ugly Betty. Her voiceover credits include Cassandra in the Disney's film Tangled: Before Ever After, as well as the TV series Tangled, Robot Chicken, Elena of Avalor, and Titan Maximum. Eden was the featured soloist in Magical, the fireworks spectacular at the Disneyland Resort and can be heard on such recordings as Hair (BCEFA benefit recording); The Maury Yeston Songbook; Bright Lights, Big City; John McDaniel Live at Joe's Pub; and Scott Alan's Dreaming Wide Awake. In 2013 she released her debut album, Look Around, to rave reviews. The album also went on to win multiple awards for independent artists including the Independent Music Awards for "Pop Album of The Year," and "Female Pop Vocalist of the Year."

As a solo artist, Espinosa performed her 2009 solo show Me at Joe's Pub in New York City, directed by Billy Porter. She returned to Southern California with her show in 2009 at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre. In 2010, her show From Eden With Love was performed to sold-out crowds in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
