On the evening that timid librarian Cinnamon Schmidt and her mother Sarah are to entertain Cinnamon's fiancé Hobart Berelzheimer and his mother Magda, at a serene family dinner, Cinnamon arrives home in shock, having been the lone witness to a bank robbery. She is the only one who can identify the crook. She confides her terror to her best friend, Deedee Malone, not daring to tell her mother. A federal agent, Joe Shimko turns up, having been tipped off that the perpetrator, Orville Maddox, is en route to "bump off" the witness. Orville's colorful girlfriend, Rikki Tickey makes an appearance at the apartment, as well. There are several cases of mistaken identity, both deliberate and accidental, which add to the chaos. Hobart enters, flowers in hand, just in time to be arrested! The real "star" however, is a monster vacuum cleaner that attacks anyone within range. The show's final moments, with all the good guys trussed up and strung together while the lights go out and the vacuum cleaner goes on, are among the funniest ever onstage!
All of this happens during Monk Ferris' rollicking comedy, DON'T TELL MOTHER! Once again, veteran TNOS producer Mimi DePasquale has assembled a crack production team, headed by Director Scott J. Barnard, Stage Manager Jeff Thomas and Assistant Stage Manager Theo Ververis.
