Peer Ghani is the story of an eternal looser who as a boy was raised on fairy tales & mythical stories during days of poverty. As he grows he is unable to deal with his reality as the real & spirit worlds clash. The play takes us through three stages of his life – the effervescent youth, a successful middle-aged trader and a broken old man. He loved two women in his life – his mother and his beloved haseena - and he deceived both of them.

January 06, 2020Ila Arun, the singer, producer, actress who has starred in such films as Thugs of Hindustan and Manto and produces Plays with Surnai Theater, has cast Sheena Chohan, an actress who was nominated as Best Actress at the Shanghai and Dubai Film Festivals, to play the role of Laila in the play Peer Ghani, by Henrik Ibsen, which will be showcased at the Royal Opera House Mumbai and also staged at Prithvi Theatre this January 2020. The play is directed by KK Raina.
