'Atithi Devo Bhavo' - Treating guests like God is an integral part in Indian culture. But not every guest is welcome.
Take, for instance, Nishikanta Babu. He is a helpless, poverty-ridden man who is not ready to welcome a guest into his home under any circumstances. His son Suman, daughter-in-law Mousumi, daughter Sulekha and his wife Aloka all are involved in constant bickering, cursing and holding each other responsible for their disintegrated family.
Everything goes topsy-turvy when a man named Amaik Pendulam barges into the household, claiming that Nishikanta owes him a large sum of money. His claim is endorsed by the police, who even threatens to put Nishikanta behind the bars. Though he is taken by surprise, he fails to make the family believe that this man is a complete stranger to him. However, Amaik Pendulam decides to stay back unless he is given back his money along with the interest. This is where the real trouble begins. The family now has to abide to all the conditions laid down by Amaik Pendulam, who is a hard taskmaster. Everyone in the household does a good deal of running around in order to make his stay comfortable.
However, things take a turn when the members of the family begin to feel differently.
