Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair End Run at Marquet Square, 3/21
The three day Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair will end its run March 21st. Six stages offered non-stop live music as more than 100 of the best acts take to the stage to celebrate Tejano music - the unique, American-made genre that combines musical influences from country and western, pop, soul and more.
During Fan Fair, more than 85,000 people will dance through Market Square to the sounds of top Tejano artists like Grammy-winning Jimmy Gonzalez y Mazz, the lively Raulito Navaira, showstopper Stefani Montiel; fan favorite Elida Reyna and rising stars like Veronica y Avance, Eddie Guerrero and Grupo Sueno. Highlights include a performance by Los Texmaniacs, still glowing from their Jan. 31 Grammy win for Best Tejano Album; the return of Tejano and international singing sensation Jennifer Peña; and a special appearance by vocalist Ilyssa Saenz, a Texas native who won the international "Search for Selena's Double" contest in February, sponsored by Telefutura.
In addition to live entertainment, Fan Fair offers food and beverage booths, Tejano artist merchandise and the chance to meet and greet your favorite Tejano star during autograph sessions.
Fan fair is especially exciting this year following the announcement that the 30th Annual Tejano Music Awards will join with the Tejano Music National Convention to present "Tejano Music 2010."
