Joe Moore and Pat Sajak will top a stellar cast on stage at Hawaii Theatre in their adaptation of Steve Conrad’s 1993 Warner Brothers dramatic comedy of the same name, WRESTLING ERNEST HEMINGWAY. Moore and Sajak, pals since their Army days at the American Forces Network in Viet Nam, wrote the stage adaptation as a team.
WRESTLING ERNEST HEMINGWAY centers around two polar opposite retirees who are anything but retiring. Frank (Joe Moore), is a loutish, former Irish-American sea captain, who says he once wrestled Ernest Hemingway. Walter (Pat Sajak) is a soft spoken, mild mannered, former barber who is a dancing enthusiast. The two old men with seemingly nothing in common are living solitary lives in a small Florida town when they meet in a park, and their unlikely friendship begins.
