Actress Mia Matthews stars in a new one-woman show celebrating Hollywood Bombshells, "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" at the Plaza Theatre in Manalapan. Creative team includes Broadway musical director and arranger, Barry Levitt and acclaimed theatrical director Donald Birely.

Song tributes from Mae West to Marilyn to Madonna, include "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend", "Bewitched", "Falling in Love Again", "Put the Blame on Mame", "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off', "Let Yourself Go", "Stormy Weather" and more.

"This show is a dream come true for me," says Mia. "Paying tribute to some incredible ladies, singing gorgeous songs, wearing glamorous clothes. In fact, I always felt like I was born in the wrong period. I love the 30's and 40's for all the glamour and sophistication. I was so thrilled when Alan Jacobsen asked me to perform a cabaret at the new Plaza Theatre. I have wanted to create a one-woman show for many years."

After many years as a theater, television and film actress in New York City, Mia is proud to call Palm Beach her home with her husband Bob Matthews. They spend their time between Palm Beach and Nantucket with their daughters, Miranda and Bianca.

Mia's New York credits include: Mizlansky/Zilinsky (with Nathan Lane) Topper the musical, and Henry IV, for the New York Shakespeare Festival at The Public Theater. Favorite regional roles include Eva Peron in Evita, Adelaide in Guys and Dolls and Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes. Now active on the local theater scene, she has performed in benefits for Palm Beach Dramaworks, Palm Beach Theater Guild, and she starred in last year's Palm Beach Follies Centennial Celebration.

Backing up Mia in "Diamonds" are Boy Bombers Jamison Stern and Kevin B. McGlynn. Stern's Broadway and national credits include: By Jeeves (Bingo Little), Little Shop Of Horrors (Seymour/Orin), and Disney's Beauty and the Beast (Lumiere). A few of McGlynn's credits include national tours for All Shook Up, Kiss Me Kate, and Forbidden Broadway and outstanding performer award at New York Musical Theatre Festival this year. He also serves as choreographer for "Diamonds."
