Island City Stage Present BUYER AND CELLAR A shopping mall with only one celebrity customer? Find out more when Island City Stage opens the 2018-19 season with Jonathan Tolins' hit Off-Broadway comedy "Buyer and Cellar".

Alex More has a story to tell! A struggling actor in L.A., he takes a job as a "shopkeeper" in the nostalgic, Main Street-inspired basement of beloved megastar, Barbra Streisand. One day, the Lady Herself comes downstairs to play. It feels like a real friendship is forming in the basement, but will their relationship ever make it upstairs? "Buyer and Cellar" is an outrageous comedy about the price of fame, the cost of things, and the oddest of odd jobs.

"Buyer and Cellar" is a perfect fit for Island City Stage and I've been anxious to produce it ever since seeing it in New York," said Artistic Director Andy Rogow, who is also directing the production. "It's both hilarious and touching as it explores the challenges of perfectionism, interior design and being celebrity-adjacent."

The production stars Matthew Buffalo, making his South Florida acting debut. He is a veteran of numerous regional productions and national tours and is currently on the faculty of New World School of the Arts. The design team features sets by Jodi DellaVentura, lighting by Ardean Landhuis, and sound by David Hart.

The production begins previews on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 with a press and Carbonell opening on Nov. 3. Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00PM and Sundays at 5:00PM through Dec. 2. at the Wilton Theater Factory Mainstage, home of Island City Stage, 2304 Dixie Hwy. in Wilton Manors.
