The Estonian National Opera will open its summer musical Fiddler on the Room Thursday, August 14, 2018. The musical will close its run on August 30, 2018.

The cast includes: Mait Malmsten (Estonian Drama Theatre), Evelin Võigemast (Tallinn City Theatre) or Liina Vahtrik, Helgi Sallo, René Soom, Mati Vaikmaa, Kadri Kipper, Anett Viinalass, Kaia Oidekivi, Reigo Tamm (Theatre Vanemuine), Norman Salumäe, Karl-Erik Tamme, Georg Gurjev, Mart Laur, Airike Kolk, and Vjacheslav Reznichenko.

This is not the first time the town of Anatevka came to the Estonia National Opera. Fiddler on the Roof first premiered at the Estonian Nation Opera in 1989, during a time Estonia was regaining independence from the Soviet Union. It was because there were many parallels between the people of Estonia and the characters in Fiddler on the Roof that the Estonia National Opera felt so compelled to tell the story.

Fiddler on the Room tells this heartwarming story of fathers and daughters, husbands and wives, and the timeless traditions that define faith and family. Featuring the Broadway classics "To Life (L'Chaim!)," "If I Were A Rich Man," "Sunrise Sunset," "Matchmaker, Matchmaker," and "Tradition."

The production will be performed in Estonian but will have subtitles in both Estonian and English.
