BREAKDOWN

ROSALIND: 25 to 35, any ethnicity. Tall. The daughter of Duke Senior. she is independent minded, strong-willed, good-hearted, and terribly clever. Love interest to Orlando. Humor. Good with Language

ORLANDO: 30 to 40. any ethnicity. Tall and attractive. Brave. Love interest of Rosalind. Son of a nobleman. Although he lacks a gentleman's education or training, he believes in his own potential. Victorious in battle. ompassionate and caring. Rescues his brother from death despite his brother’s contempt for him. Good with Language.

JACQUES: 45 to 65 years old, any ethnicity. A loyal and faithful lord of Duke Senior. Accompanies him into exile. He has a hopeless and melancholy disposition, watching the action from the sidelines. Judging and commenting with comic effect.
Excellent language and comic skills.

TOUCHSTONE: 35 to 45. any ethnicity. A clown in Duke Fredrick's court who accompanies Rosalind and Celia in their flight. He is a master of Bawdy innuendo. Hopelessly vulgar in contrast to the grace of Rosalind. Excellent language and comedy skills.

DUKE FREDERICK AND DUKE SENIOR: 55 to 65. any ethnicity. Senior: Father of Rosalind and rightful ruler of the dukedom, living now in exile. A kind and fair minded ruler. Content and making the best of his life in the forest.

FREDERICK: Brother of Duke Senior and usurper of his throne. A cruel nature and a violent temper. Experiences a reckoning and then redemption.

CELIA: 20 to 25. any ethnicity. The daughter of Duke Frederick and Rosalind's dearest friend. Attractive. A loving heart, deeply emotional. Disguises herself as a shepherdess and accompanies her cousin into exile. An act of unparalleled devotion. Excellent language skills.
