Equity actors, singers and dancers for a few roles. See breakdown

All SM positions have been filled.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a brief contemporary musical theater song from the show or in the style of the show. Bring sheet music, in the correct key, as an accompanist will be provided. Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together and your Equity card.

MARIA: 20’s. Soprano. Bernardo's sister. Willful, romantic, sensitive. Principal. This role is Latina. Principal. (Role on offer)

ANITA: 20’s- Early 30’s. Belt mezzo. Bernardo's girlfriend. Confident and out-spoken with a zeal for life. Excellent dancer/singer. Principal. This role is Latina.

BERNARDO: 20’s-Early 30’s. Baritone. Leader of the Sharks gang. Proud, protective and quick-tempered. Strong dancer/singer. Principal. This role is Latino.

RIFF: Bari-tenor. 20’s. Baritone. Athletic, muscular, can be a bully. Member of the Jets gang. Strong dancer/singer. Principal.

ACTION: 20’s. Tenor. Member of the Jets gang. Always ready for a fight. Short tempered. Loose cannon. Strong dancer/singer. Principal.

LIEUTENANT SCHRANK: 40’s-50’s. Heavy handed, cynical and obstinate. Has a no-nonsense, almost aggressive approach of getting answers. Strong actor. Principal.

DOC: 50’s- 60’s. Unassuming man that steers clear of conflict until he emerges as the moral compass of the story. Like a father to Tony. Strong actor. Principal.

GLAD HAND: 50’s. Social worker overseeing the rules of the High School dance. Principal.

KRUPKE: 50’s. Officer working with Lt. Schrank on the streets. Principal.

JETS MEN: 20’s. Excellent male dancer/singers to play the other members of the Jets gang.

JETS WOMEN: 20’s. Excellent female dancer/singers to play ANYBODYS and the girlfriends of the Jets gang.

SHARKS MEN: 20’s Excellent dancer/singers to play the other members of the Sharks gang. These roles are Latinx.
