BREAKDOWN
[JOHN DARLING]
Caucasian Male. Actor over 18 to play 14. The middle child, longing for freedom but respectful of authority, he even finds it comforting at times. Funny, winning, afraid of the dark, he sleeps with his toys and dreams of soldiers on horseback, even though he’s afraid of the concept of soldiers… and horses. Adorable, witty, charming. RP accent.
[TOOTLES]
Ethnically diverse Male. Actor 18 to play teens. A young adult, striving to overcome an impossible foe. Funny, charming, scrappy though he loves stories and longs for a mother. Eternally dirty, a devoted follower of Peter Pan and challenger of Tiger Lily. A child with illusions of manhood, but more inclined to hide than to fight. RP accent.
[SLIGHTLY]
Ethnically Diverse Male. Actor 18 to play teens. A true lost boy and slightly mournful. Attached to Peter and the group, a follower, not a leader, funny, playful, his ideal Neverland would have less pirates and more unicorns. Slightly plump, and slightly soiled. RP accent.
[MRS. DARLING / TINKERBELL]
Female, Any Ethnicity, 20’s - 40’s. As MRS. DARLING - The classic mother, kind and nurturing though tied to the norms and social morays of her era. Does not yet see Wendy as her own person and more than the next generation of mothers. This is simply because of her own education and background. Should be comfortable singing. Mrs. Darling speaks in a traditional British RP accent. As TINKERBELL - Quirky, mischievous, full of humor and sass. Can be very territorial and defensive but also clear and direct. A brat at times. Any physical type as long as the actor is comfortable with heights, as Tinkerbell definitely flies. Character speaks in a traditional British accent.
