Rock of Ages: Rehearsals begin: June 29, 2020; Performances: July 15 – 30, 2020

Drew - (male 20’s) a strong rock tenor that can belt up to at least a high C, preferably high D, with comedic timing and charm. He’s a rocker who dreams of making it big on the Sunset Strip and beyond. A devoted good guy who’s currently working as a bar back at the famous Bourbon Bar as he strives to “break in writing and singing his own music. He has instant attraction and chemistry with Sherrie.

Sherrie - (female 20’s) a strong rock belter up to D# with strong low notes, great comedic timing and good movement ability. She is straight off the bus from Kansas and new to the Sunset Strip to pursue her passion and dreams of becoming an actress. Unsuspecting and trusting in others even as she finds herself taking a stripper job to get by.

Lonny - (male late 20’s early 30’s) a dynamic comic tenor with improv skills and strong rock vocals that can belt up to a high B. The sound guy at the Bourbon Bar and self proclaimed “sound god”, he’s the narrator/conjurer of the show who has instant stage presence and charisma to spare. Funny, unabashed, and cheeky.

Dennis - (male mid 30s-40) a rock baritone that can rock belt up to a G with excellent comedic timing. He runs the Bourbon Room and is an easy going stoner type whose heart is in the right place but is feeling the changing of the times arriving as everyone looks to him to help save the Bourbon bar, and the Strip, from being sold off to foreign developers. A dry wit.

Stacee Jaxx (male 30s) a Rock Tenor that belts up to a high C - rock star that decided to leave his successful hair/metal -rock band to try it solo. Has Charm when he wants to but then immediately drops it. Full of himself and truly the ultimate bad boy - all the while having great comic timing.

Justice (female 40s) sings rock and soul with a belt up to a C# with strong low notes. Once a performer herself, she now operates a strip club where she is a maternal figure for the girls that work for her. Her presence is strong with an easy sensuality.

Hertz (male 40’s) a rock Baritone that belts up to at least a G# preferably an A. He’s a German businessman trying to buy the Bourbon Bar and most of the Strip to develop it. He is intimidating and uptight. Very demanding of his son. Strong comic timing.

Franz (male 20s) Hertz’s son with a rock belt up to A . Must have strong comedic timing and dance ability. He is pressured and intimidated by his father to work for him. He’d much rather be back home starting his own confectionery store. Shy, gentle with a big heart.

Regina (female 20s) a conscientious, earthy, hippie type who leads the protest against Hertz’s attempted take over of the Strip. Rock Belt up to a C# . Must have comedic timing and dance ability.

Joey Primo/Mayor/J’Keith (male late 20s -30s) a strong rock voice with comic timing and dance ability- Joey is a Rocker with strong stage presence who replaces Stacee Jaxx as lead singer in the band. Also plays both the mayor of West Hollywood faced with the decision to sell-out, and Ja’Keith a boy band agent who lures Drew away from the Bourbon Room with a promise to make him a star.

Waitress #1/Constance (female 20s) Strong rock voice and dance ability. W#1 works with Sherrie at the Bourbon Room. Constance a reporter assigned to interview Stacee Jaxx.
_______________________

THE SUNSHINE BOYS
Director: TBA The Sunshine Boys
The Sunshine Boys: Rehearsals begin: July 13, 2020; Performances: August 4 – 15, 2020

Willie Clark (Male, 65-85) One-half of the great vaudeville comedy team of Lewis & Clark; Willie is a bitter, sarcastic old man, but he hasn’t lost his comedic knack; he’s always dead-on with punch lines and timing; he appears self absorbed and wrapped up in his own life, and doesn’t show any signs of sentimentality or empathy, yet there’s something wholly endearing about him.

Al Lewis (Male, 65-85) The other half of Lewis & Clark; Al is the more timid straight man to Willie’s explosive temperament, yet he can dish it out on an equal level; he accepts the limitations of old age and has learned to enjoy his golden years; however, it’s obvious he misses his old partner and the good times they shared.

Ben Silverman (Male, 25-45) Willie’s nephew and agent; Ben cares very much for his uncle and really looks up to him; he tries to find work for Willie, but Willie’s age and personality make this a very difficult task; a practical, hardworking family man, Ben really didn’t inherit any of his uncle’s sense of comedy.

Eddie (Male, 20-30) A young production assistant; everything rolls down onto Eddie’s shoulders, and he’s carrying a great weight trying to get this production ready for broadcast.

Patient (Male, 30-50) An actor playing the role of a patient for the TV broadcast; overacting a bit, he often comes across as a hypochondriac.

Nurse (Female, 20-45) Another character for the TV show; this character’s purpose is to be the object of lewd sexual jokes; she should be blonde and curvy.

Registered Nurse (Female, 35-55) A mature and practical woman who enjoys her time caring for Willie; she seems to be the only person who breaks through his crusty exterior.
