BREAKDOWN

[KIM JONG-UN] Male, Asian, 18+ to play high school. A student and future Supreme Leader of North Korea. A loner with a passion for art and Michael Jordan. Intensely proud, masking his insecurities. Must be able to embody the awkwardness and inner turmoil of a teenager who is defining his identity.

[THE MINDER] Male, Asian, 40 – 50. Kim Jong-Un's Minder. Loyal to the Korean government and tasked with helping shape Kim Jong Un to be the next Supreme Leader. A little judgmental with a short temper. A surrogate father to Kim Jong-Un. Formidable and intimidating.

[SOPHIE PRESCOTT] Female, Non-Asian, 18+ to play high school. A fellow student who is from Arlington, Virginia. Sophie is an open, forward and friendly girl who works hard to befriend Kim Jong Un and others at her school. Her bright and strong personality masks an emotional wound. Optimistic, bright, witty.

[ROGER FULLBRIGHT] Male, Non-Asian, 18+ to play high school. A fellow student. Sophie's ex. Handsome with an air of entitlement, a bro. Well-meaning and good hearted, but not the most observant person.

SYNOPSIS: While in boarding school in Switzerland, Kim Jong-Un learns he’s next in line following his older brother’s career-ending trip to Tokyo Disneyland. But he must prove himself. Under the watchful eye of his minder, he sets his paintbrush aside to spy on his pretty American friend Sophie. Will “Oony” get the girl? Will he make his father proud? Set in the snow globe world of stinky cheese and mountain climbing, this coming-of-age comedy imagines Kim Jong-Un's final throes of youth before his fateful return to North Korea.
