APPOINTMENTS
Audition appointments will be held on Saturday, September 14 at Ancram Opera House, 1330 County Route 7, Ancram, NY. To schedule an appointment, please email headshot/photo and resume to casting@ancramoperahouse.org.
In email, please indicate which role you are interested in and/or if seeking a position in the chorus. Callbacks will be held the following day in Ancram, NY, at times to be determined.

BREAKDOWN
MAN: An older man, a bit withdrawn, reserved; baritone

BOY: A quiet boy around 12, the Man’s younger self; high baritone.

KAI: A boy, a bit of show-off, also around 12; boyish tenor

GERDA: A girl, 12, and Kai’s friend; light, lyric soprano

SNOW QUEEN: A powerful being, a dark and seductive force of nature; mezzo-soprano

OLD WOMAN: A spirited old woman who knows magic; expressive alto or mezzo-soprano

CROW: A highly intelligent bird who believes in dreams; an ‘academic’ light baritone or dramatic tenor

ROBBER GIRL: A wild young girl, part of a gang of robbers; alto with a rougher texture

BAC: A captive reindeer who longs for his freedom, a pet of the Robber Girl; rich lyric baritone

LAP WOMAN: A wise woman who appears simple; older, dramatic alto

CHORUS: to appear as Flowers, Wood Doves, Robbers and other roles including a Grandmother, Prince and Robber Mother. All vocal types need.
