BREAKDOWN
CATHY HIATT: Female-identifying. We see her story from age 23-28, any ethnicity. Character arcs from reeling from a divorce to the giddy excitement of new love. Comes from a small town, but is not an ingenue. Needs real comic chops; Vocal Range: Mezzo/belt to Eb5. Strongly considering women of all ethnicities, sizes and abilities.
JAMIE WELLERSTEIN: Male-identifying. We see his story from age 23-28. Charismatic, neurotic Jewish leading man. Cosmopolitan-mentality (like he grew up either in a city or just outside). Ambitious and lovable but makes ambitious decisions that aren’t lovable. Character arcs from excitement about a first date to callousness about ending his marriage. Vocal Range: Rock Bari-Tenor to Bb4. Strongly considering men of all ethnicities, sizes and abilities.
