PREPARATION
These are local auditions in Fort Worth, Texas. Please prepare a short song in the style of 50s Rock or Country. If you can play an instrument, bring it to the audition or video of playing. Bring sheet music in a binder. Accompanist will be provided. No Submissions at this time please.

BREAKDOWN
Seeking strong actors and singers of all genders, ethnicities, ages and types.

Buddy Holly-American musician and singer-songwriter from Lubbock, Texas. Central figure of mid-1950s rock and roll.
Joe B. Mauldin-Serious character with musical ability from Lubbock, Texas. Must be able to sing, act, and play the Double Bass.
Jerry Allison-25 to 35 years old. Good looking from Lubbock, Texas. Must be able to sing and play the drums. Must have cheeky humor and ability to act.
Hipockets Duncan- Lubbock, Texas disc jockey who gave Buddy his first opportunity.
Maria Elena-Young, Puerto Rican receptionist of Buddy's music publisher, married Buddy after 5 hours.
Big Bopper-25 to 35 years old, male. Must command the stage, be able to sing and play a musical instrument, and possess a comedic flair. A former DJ from Texas, larger-than-life character.
Norman Petty-American musician and record producer of Buddy, from Clovis, New Mexico.
Vi Petty- Founded the studio with husband, Norman Petty. Lots of soul, a visionary from Clovis, New Mexico.
Ritchie Valens-25 to 35 years old, Hispanic male. Must be able to sing and play a musical instrument. Good looking character with serious charisma, a dedicated eye for women and the ability to command the stage with his presence.
Marlena-20 to 25 years old, Big voice, young, energetic. Sings 'Shout' in the show.
Ensemble (Performers at Apollo/DJ/Hayriders) of strong singers/movers.
