The play will be rehearsed and performed at Symphony Hall in Newark, NJ. a short distance from the NJ Transit Morris and Essex train line originating at Penn Station NYC. Travel from NYC for rehearsal and performance is reimbursed for train travel only. Please direct all correspondence to auditions@ptnj.org. Copies of the script will be available on the day of the auditions as well as on line at www.ptnj.org.

EPA Procedures are in effect for this audition.

BREAKDOWN

ALNEESA:
African-American woman late 20s-early 30s. Barely making it in Newark, and raising her nephew after the death of his mother in a random shooting. She is realistic, but tough; in the play, her resentment results in some violence against her nephew.

BERNADETTE:
Late 60s -early 70s, lunch-lady at a Newark elementary school. Intelligent and tough, outspoken and crotchety, she takes good care of people she things deserves it. She finds out she has been diagnosed with MS in the play.
